My avast detects my messenger process, msnmsgr.exe, as Win32:Kelihos-S [Trj]

My Avast free detects the process of my Windows Live Messenger, msnmsgr.exe, as Win32:Kelihos-S [Trj] (Trojan).
It detected it as such in the scheduled scan, than i did a memory scan.
The following attachment is of the memory scan.
Also, the screen of the results don’t allows me to select the threat and do it something.
Why this is happening??? Is this a false positive?

using “scan memory” will give some strange scan results…so DO NOT use that setting…

if you use the forum search button at top and search for “scan memory” with quotes, you will see that
the forum is full of these cases…

Also, the screen of the results don't allows me to select the threat and do it something
and since this is not an actual file, you cant remove it....so the button is gray

This result appeared also in the scheduled full scan results which included memory scan as well.

as said… DO NOT use the “scan memory” setting

IMO this should be removed in the next avast version…alternative a big red warning sign…

Why the Avast memory scan ALWAYS gives up false positives?
Virus and other threats can infects the memory as well.
I excluded the memory scan from my custom made scheduled full system scan, which called “Perfect system scan”, and erased the “Scan memory” scan, which was also custom made, btw.

Virus and other threats can infects the memory as well.
as Igor said in a post somwhere in here.....if it has, then it is already to late! ( i will see if i can search some info )

anyway, as i understand memory scan is already included in the quick / full scan… so why this happens when you select this extra scan…dono?

anyway it is not necessary to scan everything, there is a realtime shield working in the background all the time…scanning all files/process that is moving, so if a virus file/process is on the move…the real time shield will grab it

if it was necesarry to scan everything then avast would have made one default scan that scanned everything…and it would be slow as molasses and use a week to finish

if you use the quick scan once a week it is plenty…or activate the screensaver scan, then you dont have to think about it at all

if and when it find a virus, then you can run a full scan
