My computer crashed!

to use avast v6, i think u need to download the old installer, off internet and install. this should force it to install v6.

I turned off wifi from my laptop via a button on my laptop that lets me do this… and it didn’t work.

Have you checked event viewer?

I know it wouldn’t be there it might have been… but i cleared the logs in event viewer by mistake yesterday. but there is new logs from after i did the clearing of the logs… :-[ :-[ but the ones i cleared was under windows logs> applications.

Edit: here is what it said under general The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff80002ad7925). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 052912-23446-01.

EDITED: I tried to install the version of 6 again and it worked the version that worked was 6.0.1203 now just awaiting a program update to avast 7 to update…

If you get a bsod next time (or any other member here), it’s better to let us know (e.g. send me a PM).
Your crash was caused by a bug in aswsp.sys driver (antirootkit part), I think it was already fixed.

Thanks for the reply! but i will just wait i guess to the next update of avast though… in march was the very first time this pc crashed so i did a clean install of avast so idk how the driver was causing it though. but thanks again for the reply!

I asked avast support also… and they e-mailed me today telling me

Hello, I have checked your minidump file and the problem is caused by memory corruption - not avast.\

I still think it was avast 7 because since i removed it i have had no computer crashes (YET)

No computer crashes here with my Windows 7 system but I do have 4GB RAM.
