Well first this is an Antivirus forum, second did you try reinstalling like it said?

 Hi MLB :

I found this in the "General Computer Problems" forum on
 Castlecops :

"The more file sharing software on a system the more infected it is . Limewire uses a rootkit to cloak its files but they can't hide from a remote scan and I have noticed other files hidden by this method that the user would want to know about . "

You can read the "full" discussion at :

P.S. I told you 2 weeks ago about “Shareaza” ; did you ever
go its website !?

For me I wouldn’t click Review for all the tea in China, this could be a means to trick you into downloading something malicious.

Given what Spiritsongs says if I were a P2P user I wouldn’t touch Limewire with a barge pole (long stick), P2P programs are always going to have an element of risk downloading from unknown sources and it would seem that using Limewire increases that risk.

Shades of the Sony rootkit used to hide files that once know was exploited by other malware to hide their files.

Use Shareaza: http://www.shareaza.com/
Don’t forget to install PeerGuardian 2: http://phoenixlabs.org/ and be very carefull with your downloads.
