Hello,
We started receiving strange text messages not realising that it was Avast Anti-theft (we had forgotten it was installed) and in our confusion we changed the sim and made the situation worse and now the phone has been locked and fails to boot. We have since purchased a new Motorola G 3rd gen and changed our mobile number as a consequence, in case the old number was still locked. I assume that I should throw away the old phone now that it is locked as I suspect that it cannot now be remotely unlocked by Avast.
I can supply further details of the phone and the registered accout it was configured to - if this helps.
If it is recoverable that would be great , however if not then I shall throw it away and to remember never to again install anti-theft app again in case the same thing happens, especially as the cost of replacing this type of phone is negligible when compared with the hassle of trying to change details of my monthly account with my service provider.
I hope that you can throw some light on this issue although I do not expect that there is a solution to the problem.
Anticipating any help with this matter.
Kind regards.
Jeff Dingle…
