My Name ???

Hello,

Whenever I make a post and end it with:

Best regards,
Kent

My name is replaced by an asterisk. Is this supposed to be or a glitch?
Thanks in advance…

Best regards,
Kent

P.S. I see it does this to my name wherever I put it in a post??? Strange ??? …

What is your name? :stuck_out_tongue: (I tried variations of your username)

(if you add spaces it shouldn’t get replaced…)

K e n t

Interesting…it does get replaced…

Usually, replacements like this happen due to the spam filter which removes words that are listed in the filter.

Wonder why that is in there…I’ve pm’d a mod to see what is happening.

It is not a big deal, that is just my standard signature when I post. I only thought it was strange that was happening and wondered if there was a reason for it…

Best regards,
Kent

It is definitely getting caught in the Spam trap of banned words along with a couple of other common US brands associated with spammers.

It’s also a place in england, and someone’s name. As always there needs to be a balance…

And a cigarette… ::slight_smile:

I think that the balance has been struck, in over seven and a half years on the forum this is the first time I have come across any issue with this particular word block when not associated with spammers.

Try again now.

Best regards,
Kent

Thanks! It is nice to have a name again ;D …

Best regards,
Kent

You’re welcome…!

I don’t see what was wrong with K e n t signing as it was.

When this was a single instance when the reason for the block was multiple instances of spammers using it trying to flog cheap/knock off/fake cigs.

If you weren’t the person to apply the block I don’t believe you should be the one to remove it (or I would have done it myself).

Dave, I haven’t seen a single cigarette related spam for months. Further, it’s easy to put back, if need be. Unlike other cigarette brands this word has other meanings, as mentioned above. But ok, do you want me to put it back…?

I don’t think that the one word will make such a difference…at the end of the day, the spam will still be seen, and removed. This list is just used to make it slightly easier to identify it…

I’m just saying there are other ways round this without removing any banned words.

KentD, Kent-D, (with middle initial) K e n t, etc. etc.

My 2 cents, Adding additional words to the spam list that will making identification of
spam easier makes sense. Removing items from the list that weren’t added by us,
should only be removed by Moderators.
