My PC's the slut of the internet!!

Hi,

After reading other’s issues on this forum, I have installed and ran Hijackthis on my system and it spat out the following jargon… Can you please decypher and advise me how to clean it all up. I believe there are at least 2 viruses and probably other vicious programs I can’t remove;

See below version history for short info on hijack sections.

Hi,

go
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt to see how to produce a HJT-Log:
basically start the prog, click “scan”, wait, then click “SaveLog” then mark & copy all in the Text-file/editor that pop’s up and post it here…

Also please read the link " VirusRemoval" below in my sig and come back with more info concering symptoms, name&location of found viruses & best also a report by onlinescanners

You can also visit my website, I got the HijackThis Log Analyzer for download there (comes with the latest version HijackThis 1.98.2) and an explanation of the log file.

Currently working on the site (it is online though), and this week there will be a entire HijackThis section with everything you need/want to know.

Ok people… Work some magic for me, Please!

What is the problem? A quick look at the log it would appear to be ok.

Follow the previous help you have received, learn to use the tools.

Eddy’s HiJackThis Info and Analysis page, HiJackThis log file analyzer, use his analysis tool and follow the directions there and get back to us if you need more help…

The log is as DavidR said, clean.

What about those below? Norton Antivirus installed or hasn’t fully uninstalled?

C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC SHARED\CCEVTMGR.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC SHARED\CCAPP.EXE

I didn’t comment on them, because I don’t know what his problems is, he didn’t say. It is likely to be remnants of a Norton AV uninstall.

Not all things Norton/Symantec are AV but many of these are and are likely to cause conflict. But again we don’t know, he hasn’t said.

Hmm…, not such a slut after all…
Maybe just an occasional one… ;D
