Occasionally when I close a virtual program in Avast sandbox, the command interface says its still running. The program itself stops, but Avast seems to think its still there. (Avast Internet Security package, btw) I’m just wondering if this is indicative of a problem.
Maybe the process is still running, even if you have closed its window?
Check the Task Manager, Processes page if it says the same…
BTW are you talking about a specific program, or it happens with pretty much all sandboxed programs?
Nope, it’s never shown in task manager after I close, only in the Avast interface. It seems to only happen with Firefox and, if I was watching video, an audiodg.exe file. Should I try sandbox on a different browser, see if it still happens?
Which version are you using now? When a virtualized process abruptly terminates, there are still some post-processing operations and it was reported to GUI that such process hasn’t been completely terminated yet.
This should be fixed in pre-release 5.0.499 build (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=58183.0).
Using ver. 5.0.462, on Windows7 HP64. Should I download the pre-build when available? This problem has given me 2-3 errors (Windows improperly shut-down, programs still running), but by going into Avast and manually ending the virtual process, the errors stopped. The command interface says they’re still running, but at least windows doesn’t.
