My Yahoo Page, Yahoo Mail, and News Sites False Positives?

I am running the free version of Avast, and it is completely up-to-date. I am up-to-date with scans as well. I also have the full paid version of Malwarebytes.

Today, when I turned on my computer and opened IE to my My Yahoo start page. I started getting Avast warnings about a problem script and after a while they switched over to the general Malware program warning. I see no reason to think that these are any sort of viruses. Each warning refers simply to something from Yahoo. Are these false positives? How can I fix the problem? My mother was getting the same problem on her computer and some of the major news sites with pictures (stories linked off of Fox News.com).

Can someone please help me? I really don’t think I have a virus.

Thanks,
Grey

There are already at least two other threads about this in this very forum about Yahoo:

And at least another three about ads elsewhere:

I was also getting numerous ‘HTML:Script-inf’ popups from avast web shield as well, especially with reloading myyahoo page or when clicking on the my yahoo button on the toolbar. Found out that the comics app was causing all the popups. So I deleted the comics app and the popups stopped.

Just though you’d like to know.
