NAV Uninstall!

Hi all,

I’m new and a wreck. Running XP Home and only 651 processor. Anyway, I have Norton and downloaded Avast and ran the scan. To my suprise Trojans were there along with Kuano. Why did Norton not catch these? Even though I still have time left with Norton, I would switch to Avast if I was not afraid to try and uninstall Norton. Everything I read on these boards tells me I’ll have trouble. I have PC Doc registry cleaner and Softspy. I’m really tired of going broke buying programs to take care of popups, viruses, etc. But right now my main problem is that I’m afraid I do not have the knowledge it takes to uninstall NAV. Help?

Hi Sagegreen7,
Decent computer security doesn’t have to be expensive.
Go to my website, you’ll find lots of free PC security tools & how to completely uninstall Norton.

The NAV 2003 removal tool can be downloaded here: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/misc/consumer/Rnav2003.exe
Manual Removal NAV 2004 - Manual Removal NAV 2004
Manual Removal NAV 2003 or earlier - Manual Removal NAV 2003 or earlier

avast is only an antivirus (not antipopup, etc.). But, it’s a very good one.

That won’t be the problem, you can ask whatever you need 8)
Start with what David posted

I did the same thing ( leaving the other company early) and switched to avast! 4 .

The microsoft add/remove ( removed it all)

I did it last month took about 15 minutes or less to remove internet security 2005 version
Then three days ago I did it on my sister-in-laws PC .

If I remember, It had three programs to remove from my internet security 2005 and Live update was my last

It important to only remove AFTER
You restart
Then
Stop the PROCESS on the program or programs you want to remove,
before you remove anthing running

PS
remember to restart your PC after the removal

I always do as many restarts as necessary before and after anything new arriving or old getting removed.

For popups I use
“All In One SecretMaker” at www.Download.com

I use Zone alarm firewall

and on the Software that offer FREE
and accept donations in PayPal
(I donate)

on microsoft
control panel
security is High
and i place my trusted sites at medium AND
and make sure windows update web site and microsoft web sites and avast and your firewall web sites are the FIRST to be entered in your SAFE zone

Good Luck and be calm
All will go well
