Need Help- All logs attached

Laptop has been running slow periodically. Tried to run GrimeFighter and it will not pass the sedate PC stage, so I turned to the forums and followed instructions for logs to assist in cleaning malware.

All logs attached. Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated!

Definitely slow when browsing, so I try to limit that- but this is a work laptop that requires me to me online for our sales tracking program. I notice chrome can slow things down further, so I try to limit use to firefox but both are still used frequently.

Perhaps unrelated, but laptop freezes occasionally when working in some Word documents (another daily task). This has always been an issue, whereas the general slowness of the laptop is relatively new.

I’ve attached the log. Thanks!

What version of Avast are you currently running ?

Current version: 2015.10.2.2215

I appreciate your help. Here is the log.

Could you test the browsing now and see if there is any improvement

So far, things seem to be running smoothly.

Thoughts on why I was unable to rum GrimeFighter… or is that something I should not even be concerned about? (I have not tried again since we started this process.)

Not overly sure although I believe Grimefighter requires a stable internet connection

Run the computer as normal for a day or so and let me know if the speed problem returns

I went all day Friday without any issues. Did not use this laptop on Saturday or Sunday (work). So far, everything seems to be fine today.

In regards to GrimeFighter, we do have a strong and stable internet connection. If that is something I should not be concerned with though, then I will disregard.

I appreciate all of your help!

Not to sure about that as I have never used Grimefighter

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
