I think I got it. I found a non plug and play driver called catchme. I disabled it and deleted catchme.zip. I don’t know if I cured it but I have done a boot-scan and it hasn’t popped up since.
I’m not an expert so you may wish to check with someone else but catchme.exe is a spyware component so you may have deleted it yourself and that could explain why its not being detected now, but like I said you may wish to clarify it with the more knowledgable people on this forum, good luck
Catchme is actually part of the GMER rootkit scanner used by combofix and others. I have a copy on my system. The reason it is caught is because the behaviour is similar to malware (poacher come gamekeeper) . I just tried my version and that is also detected as a Virus - but I know it is not
