Earlier today, my email somehow got hacked, and sent something to all the people on my contact list. The email was sent from my account. Yahoo blocked me out and made me change my password after extra verification. I’m wondering if I’m infected with a key logger or something of the sort? Or is it some sort of weird email chain thing that’s been common lately… Avast and mbam scan came out clean, so I went and made the logs. I think there were some things that got deleted, but I’m worried that my computer isn’t clean yet. I was wondering if someone could take a look at my logs?
The Extras.txt is missing, everytime I have had to use OTL, I never get that file. My mbam log is actually from a full system scan because that was what I used right after Avast found nothing; if that’s not okay, then please tell me and I’ll redo it.
Do you use a web based mail i.e. Hotmail, Yahoo etc. If so change your password immediately as that has been hacked
I can see no apparent malware on the system.
Yes, I use yahoo, and the reason I knew I got hacked was because yahoo detected ‘suspicious activity’ on my account, so it prompted me to change my password.
The only places I log into my account are from my desktop and iPhone (iPhone OS is outdated, but I don’t think that matters). The password I was using was one solely for that email, and I have never used it for anything else. Any ideas on how I got hacked? Or maybe because I clear my browsing data/cookies almost every day and I somehow deleted the problem?
