I did some of my own cleaning using otl.exe and then combofix, and I believe that helped alot. I do have a few other minor infections, like with Firefox, for example. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me double check my work and eliminate the rest of the malware, making sure I did things correctly. Thanks.
follow this guide and attach (not copy and paste) logs from Mawarebytes / OTL / aswMBR
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
if you have the combofix log…attach that also
See attached. Thanks.
OK looks like your topic has flown under the radar and the malware removal specialists have missed it.
Even now there may be some delay due to differing time zones (2:35am in the UK) and availability of the volunteer malware removal specialists, work commitments, etc. Currently there are none of them on-line.
Okay, I guess I will wait patiently until someone can give me instructions on what to do next. Thanks.
Hi sorry we missed you… Could you attach the combofix log please

I dont have the combofix log from last week’s scan. If you provide me proper instruction, I could create one again. (I dont have the combofix program installed anymore.) Attached are the new logs, thank you!
OK lets re-run Combofix as I feel it did not get it all first time round
Download and Install Combofix
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2
VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
- IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
- Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
- Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
- If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
No signs of trouble, everything seems to be running well so far. Combofix log attached. Thank you. Do I need to delete combofix now? If so, how? Thx.
Subject to no further problems
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

Thanks a bunch. However, I am still getting malware warnings, and my last avast scan picked up alot of potential threats. I will say, though, that these don’t look like any of the problems I had last time, so thats good. Any instructions, please? Or shall I do what you said in your last post regarding cleanup? Thanks.
and my last avast scan picked up alot of potential threats. I will say, though, that these don't look like any of the problems I had last time, so thats good.can we see what ?
What is Avast detecting ? Is it in the qoobox or OTL_Moved files folders
Here’s what it’s detecting. Malware scan attached and a screenshot from an Avast scan (I dont know how to save an Avast scan log).
OK it is detecting all the quarantined files … So run the cleanup to remove those folders and then run Avast again
Okay. Attached the Avast log screenshot, and a shot of my windows update. It doesnt download updates. Any ideas why it wont work? Thank so much! Everything else is good.
My fault … You hadn’t used my updated scan script so it missed one vital bit of data

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
Here you go. Thank you.

Double click the file and allow to merge
Now check windos updates and let me know of any remaining problems
Windows updates are working. Everything seems to be working great! Thank you!!!
