Hi malware fighters and listeners to streaming radio,
NETCASTING IN DANGER !!
The RIAA in the United States of America is at it again. They are trying to shut down small Internet radio services by burdening them with royalty fees that can be larger than a given service’s entire income. In many cases, royalty fees for small netcasters have increased by a factor of ten or more, with even more increases on the way. Visit savenetradio.org and write your Senator today and let your voice be heard before it’s too late. You can use our suggested text at congress.org, change it, or write your own message. You can look up their addresses and phone numbers at congress.org. Don’t let your freedoms and musical choices be determined by large corporate or the wrong interests.
The RIAA should stick to EQ curves and tone controls.
Thanks for taking this thread on, I will go to the link you suggested, while there is streaming radio on my headphones from my VLC player as I write this posting to you and the other forists. Also for superior audio quality I have downloaded the AAC-aacPlus Plugin from Orban, so I can listen to my favorite polish Pomorski radiostation with super sound.
I hope they will not succeed in clamping down on the free interchange of information at a time when it’s voice is needed most.

Damien,
It's a well known fact that in all political matters, those who shout the loudest are always heard.
This makes it all the more important to let your actions speak for you.
Contact your local politicians. Get involved.
One voice is a little whisper. Many voices are a roar.
When I went to log into my live365 account today,
I was greeted with a message informing me that today was a Radio Broadcast Day of Silence.
For those of you unaware of the issues that brought about this day, be sure to visit THIS page, and get informed.
If you enjoy online music, you may not be in the near future… unless action is taken NOW.
Yep, understand bob3160, and every listener that cares should contact his local senator. You can make the difference, and the rest of the global audience outside the US will love you for that. I listen to American streaming radio almost every day, and without the Internet I would not know how to recieve it. Yes, big media like to have us on “their” terms, and we do not like that.
Time and options are running out for Internet Radio. Late this afternoon, the court DENIED the emergency stay sought on behalf of webcasters,
millions of listeners and the artists and music they support.
UNLESS CONGRESS ACTS BY JULY 15th, the new ruinous royalty rates will be going into effect on Sunday, threatening the future of all internet radio.
We are appealing to the millions of Internet radio listeners out there, the webcasters they support and the artists and labels we treasure
to rise up and make your voices heard again before this vibrant medium is silenced. Even if you have already called, we need you to call again.
The situation is grave, but that makes the message all the simpler and more serious.
PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES RIGHT AWAY and urge them to support the Internet Equality Act.
Go to http://www.capwiz.com/saveinternetradio/alert_9738601.html to find the phone numbers of your Senators and Representative.
If they’ve already co-sponsored, thank them and tell them to fight to bring the bill to the floor for an immediate vote.
If the line is busy, please call back. Call until you know your voice has been heard.
Your voices are what have gotten us this far - Congress has listened. Now, they are our only hope.
We are outmatched by lobbying power and money but we are NOT outmatched by facts and passion and the power of our voices.
Again, please go to http://www.capwiz.com/saveinternetradio/alert_9738601.html to find the necessary phone numbers and make the call today.
Thank you,
The SaveNetRadio Campaign
Our last chance to make an impact before FREE internet radio becomes part of history.
According to DI.FM, that i listen a lot, no one (i’m sure ppl are calling but is other end listening too?) gives a crap about net radios and it appears they’ll shut everything down. :-\ Very sad…
i hate BIG companies s0ny,MS,thousands more
i hate MPAA,RIAA
I hate fox and other TV networks
i hate my cell phone network provider
i hate ADS…
i basically hate everyone getting filthy rich off me…
here is my theory which i am sure will give u a new onlook of life
big companies== ADS,ADS and lot of ADS
ADS+common man==more $$ for big companies
where do the money for the ADS come from ??
WE,the costumers pay of it indirectly when we buy products
lots of big companies==power+powerful people who can dictate terms to the GOVT
why was this unwanted step taken up by the RIAA??
cos big companies told them to…
i hate every govt system…its run by big companies…i know it another scam to make people buy more ipods, itunes and crap which i dont need…
all the big companies get tax rebates,
they have a room full of people in black suites, working out more ways to avoid tax,
maniuplate the accounts, invest in tax saving bonds, find loopholes in the tax system,
while small, medium establishments have to cut down on their standard of living to pay the taxes
well i hope now its clear how apple,Ms,sony etc etc are working together to kill ur radio,
if they could they would put their BRANDS on SUNLIGHT …
it would need PRODUCTION ACTIVATION ;D ;D
well excuse me for starying totally off the topic i jus wanted to tell some one the truth… ;D ;D
Then, on topic.
First, for the background information, please read it at wiki.
Proprietary content companies appear to like to get rid of it before it’s getting too popular. A few months ago, they took Pandora from people outside of U.S. or at least people who are not using U.S. IP addresses. Why are they unhappy if a non-US resident listens to these free streaming services and buy music when he/she likes some at local Amazon, for example? Why do they need to be so control paranoia? I think I had been in position of practicing what they call “piracy” for years if I would but I’ve been playing “honest” and payed for media I bought, of course, with my doubts being piled up in the meantime. I agree that any individual should be payed for his/her contribution to other people but I am very sure that there are people who get more money than they deserve in the proprietary content companies.
