Hi all.
Since we still have some Win9x clients in our network we have had to deploy manually with a remote administration tool.
However for various reasons the MSI packages created with the ADNM console failed to install properly.
So we tried to install using the setup_av_net.exe package, and it works, but it installs the english language version of the Managed Client.
We can change it back to italian but it takes at least 2 reboots more, since the italian language option appears only AFTER the first reboot.
My question is: is it possible to make it install the Italian language version from the beginning?
Maybe some command line switch or some other tricks?
Well , the problems I had with Win9x clients are two:
A local install of the NetClient package made by the console SEEMS to install , but when the pc is restarted it keeps saying in the Error.log that it can’t find its server.
But since I had the same problem with some Win2K/XP machines with wrongly configured WINS server I guess it could have been the missing/wrong WINS server too.
We have a multi-subnet LAN at each AMS-managed site, so without WINS i guess the UDP broadcast used to locate the AMS can’t work.
A local install of the NetClient package or even the setup_av_net.exe package complains it can’t find the License.dat and doesn’t give the option to install in DEMO mode. If I give it the License.dat manually it likes and the setup can proceed.
2) A local install of the NetClient package or even the setup_av_net.exe package complains it can't find the License.dat and doesn't give the option to install in DEMO mode.
Is the system clock set up correctly on those machines? Especially the YEAR value.
