Stronger identity and privacy protection
- Secure Identity has a refreshed experience for both signed-in and signed-out users, making it easier to start scans, review findings, and understand what needs attention.
- Privacy Control now has a cleaner landing and setup flow for free and paid users, including a better first-time and returning-user experience.
- Paid Secure Identity dashboards and Privacy Control settings were refreshed to make key information easier to scan and the overall experience more consistent.
- Password Checkup is smoother, with a cleaner first-time flow, working switches, and more accurate browser grouping so results better match where passwords were actually found.
- Signed-in users who have not entered their details yet now get clearer setup guidance, and the email they just scanned can carry over into monitored emails after sign-in.
- Adding a phone number now shows a specific validation message when something is wrong, instead of a vague generic failure.
- We also polished smaller identity and privacy details, including clearer singular wording, better text contrast, corrected review-request labels, and proper “Not you” state handling.
A better VPN and licensing experience
- Reconnecting from the VPN card is smoother, with the app no longer showing an invalid VPN state error when you are already connected.
- Buttons in the SecureLine VPN section stay clickable, so core controls remain accessible when you need them.
- Multi-device VPN setup is better prepared for native device pairing flows from in-product prompts.
Smarter cleanup and device tools
- Cleanup scans are more reliable and no longer get stuck at 88% in the Cloud Cleaner flow.
- Data Shredder now handles shortcuts and links more safely, so it shreds what you selected instead of the file behind the link.
- The Data Shredder intro is now fully translated in Spanish.
- Adding Cleanup Free now shows the correct free experience instead of a Premium one.
- Software Updater pop-ups keep their icon layout intact even with longer app names.
Easier setup, onboarding, and account flows
- Guided onboarding now shows only the features available to your account, helping avoid dead ends during setup.
- Desktop shortcut naming is clearer and better aligned with the product you are using.
- Interrupting a module uninstall no longer leaves the app in a broken visual state after restart.
- Uninstall reliability is improved, including a fix for a system crash seen in a specific uninstall scenario.
Everyday reliability and polish
- Scan history messaging is clearer when a scan finishes but skips a locked file, so it no longer looks like the scan was canceled.
- Scan Summary can now show more detected categories where relevant, giving you a fuller picture at a glance.
- My Licenses descriptions are translated more consistently in Spanish.
- Avast One now opens the right identity or privacy area more reliably from notifications.
- We also smoothed out a range of smaller settings and layout details, including excluded profile handling, localized dates, and consistency fixes across Privacy Control screens.
- Web Shield now handles malware blocking and URL exclusion scenarios more reliably in 26.7.
