New Avast Suite

With small buisnesses wanting to protect themself from the internet threats do you think that Avast Managed Client should include somekind of firewall to make an all in one solluttion ?

Share your thoughts

I think yes. If I had a business I would only want 1 product to do everything that way it is much more simple.

Thats what I think also, but I believe that this should only be for the Avast Mnaged Version not Avast 4 Normal Edition.
I think that have should copy Symantec , but only on its marketing technique not the products, meaning that it Avast should have a seperate Antivirus\Antivirus + Firewall\Firewall that way everyone will have only what they want.

As far as I know, a good quality stand-alone firewall is allways better than "bundled bloatware"solutions, that will slow down PC speed. :-\ (that’s my IMHO)
Take care.

I don’t use ADNM (although I have translated it) but I feel than an incorporated firewall will always be worse than a standalone.

Justin’s point is valid from a marketing point of view. Many users (business and home) want integrated products either for convenience or from a desire to learn as little as possible about true security (isn’t this the reason for Norton’s and McAfee’s success?). But I would rather have stand alone products.

Maybe the answer is a GUI that gives the impression of using an integrated firewall while actually controlling distinct programs.

Most probably will be two standalone applications, antivirus + firewall that IF they’re present togheter in the same computer they COULD be integrated.
Yes, I think this is the mind 8)

One install package incorporating Anti Virus, Firewall and Spy Ware all bundled under the Alwil - avast! label
but consisting of 3 separate programs.
During the install, you can use the default of installing all 3 programs or, on a selective install,
add only the modules/options you specify.
With that type of choice, you would get the best of all options wrapped up in one bundle. IMHO
