This is just an antivirus. I thought it was an AdBlock update as well? I am starting to get messages saying “oh, you are using an add block give us 30$ to continue”

BTW I think Software updater and Network inspector should be part of Smart scan.

Both already are part of Smart Scan.

Not in my Avast Free 22.2. Smart scan only scan browsers, viruses and advanced threats.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Has there been any reported issues with boot scans on this version? I ran one today it and the scan hung at two percent for like three hours.

I did clean install of 22.2. And you probably not, thats why you still have software updater on Smart scan. Strange, we have same version and we have different UI. I think it has nothig to do you are premium user.

1. Hmmm, probably related to your system/setup, I haven’t seen any similar reports.
2. That’s a new feature (UI themes), currently available in beta only. (See screenshot)

I personally think the light color isn’t very attractive and washed-out looking.

True and there is not much difference between dark and standart. Most users install AV and forget about it, so i think Avast should focus on more important things than changing colors. I personaly liked minimalistic UI of Avast 12. Today Avast AV feels so heavy.

Hello, if I put the firewall in “ask” mode, windows takes several minutes to open. The program icons are not visible in the taskbar and the system does not respond for several minutes. If I set the firewall to “smart” or “allow” there is no problem. Tested on 2 recent computers running win 10 last version with all updates.

Moreover it is not possible to modify the rules because the dialog boxes are empty.

Avast Premium Security 22.2 is blocking Steam client from internet connection. I checked firewall settings in Avast, to make sure that the Steam is not blocked. But it didnt helped. I need to disable Avast every time I want to start Steam.
