NEW Avast Version 22.2 (February 2022)
Hi, all. Please welcome the newest version of Avast AV: 22.2 (22.2.6003)
Major public announcement:

  • Firewall Rules In Firewall you can once again create application rules manually without waiting for apps to connect to the internet
  • Wi-Fi Inspector is now called Network Inspector To align the feature name with our other security apps, we’ve renamed Wi-Fi Inspector to Network Inspector. This change is also to remind you that it can scan both wired and wireless networks
  • New look of the UI We’ve updated our design to give you friendlier, more rounded corners

Other notable improvements in the release:

  • Sandbox UI now includes app list
  • Fixed some issues where the UI would not be displayed properly under some resolution settings

As usual a big thanks goes to the team for yet another successful release!

Is Rescue Disk (UEFI) confirmed fixed and working in this new version?

Yep.

Where does it say that in the changelog. I am going to get mad at the Devs, if I waste time trying to create a Rescue Disk from the new version and it bombs again as in last versions.

Changelog popup was weird. Popup offering me Avast Browser was covering the “what’s new” panel and when I clicked ok to get rid of it, entire popup closed…

Turns out it wasn’t covering the popup, just a very unfortunate graphic design of the whole popup which makes it seem like it does. Who designed this? It’s terrible.

After this new update, I cannot turn on Sensitive Data Shield in Avast Premium Security. It worked perfectly well till yesterday. I sent reports but I got no reply or feedback.

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Hello, there are some unfinished things I noticed:

  • In Setup “Network Inspector” is still called “Wi-Fi Inspector”.

  • In Widows Action Center/Security/Virus protection is still old logo (Win 7).

  • Version 22.1 still not informed me about new version if “Ask when an update is available” was set. This bug persist years.

Confirmed. (Also for the German version)

Dev-Info: Known issue, we are unable to build new binaries.

The more security products I try out, the more comfortable I am with using Avast. I have one wish for Avast which is that issues with shutting down and starting up Windows could be solved. The two affected Windows systems (7 and 10) both function correctly with alternatives to Avast.

Good to see Avast listened to customer feedback about it. It shouldn’t have been deleted in the first place, but I’m happy that it’s back.
Thank you.[/list]

Software updater in this version seems slow to load programs. Still loading… it should be fixed.

BTW I think Software updater and Network inspector should be part of Smart scan.

Both already are part of Smart Scan.

This is just an antivirus. I thought it was an AdBlock update as well? I am starting to get messages saying “oh, you are using an add block give us 30$ to continue”
