The current version 24.10.9535 is causing a slow shutdown on computers.

The issue seems to be fixed. Avast did an update this morning to 24.10.9535.880
and the computer now shuts down quickly like it should. The only other issue is Avast should provide a way to turn off the Software Updater functions (for programs that are installed) In Avast Free this function should not be enabled and there is no way to turn if Off … But you can click on the … at the right side of each program and tell it to Ignore it
In the Avast Free version you can remove the Avast Cleanup component which Software Updater appears to be tied to.

Not sure what was in these options, (I never used them, and I guess it would follow any other exceptions you had set) but it is still possible to run the Explorer (Right Click) Scan.
