Hi all,

we just released new beta AVG version 17.9.3038 (build 17.9.3748.0).

Changes / Fixed Bugs

  • Click on Scan Details in Notification Center does not execute another scan anymore
  • Changes related “Send for analysis” from Virus Chest and detection dialogs
  • Fixed crash of AVG service when license expires
  • Fixed problems with Behavior shield, that cut off internet connection

Known Issues

  • It is not possible to install other products from AVG UI (such as Tuneup, VPN)

Installation is taking incredibly long just like avast!'s. And I have anything but slow PC, fast hexa core, 32GB RAM and a massive fast SSD as only storage device. I’ve attached the logs from a point where it was stuck at (81-83% point). It’s sitting at this point for minutes now and it just shouldn’t be taking so damn long.

EDIT:
It finally finished the installation. It took 17 minutes on my system. Totally unreasonable and unacceptable.

Another glitch on Recycle Bin. When there are files in it and you right click the Recycle Bin, there is this empty gap between entries (see attached image). When no files are in Recycle Bin, there is no empty space in the context menu. Didn’t have that when using avast! stable version (meaning this is an AVG beta specific thing).

Thank you very much for reporting this issue. It is related to new option (shredding) added into context menu above Recycle Bin. Reported to the developer.

It seems to be a crash caused by Hewlett-Packard driver.

I made the mistake of installing this and I don’t know how to uninstall it.
