Hi everyone,

new beta version 17.6.2308 is released.

What’s new

  • Anti-phishing in Web Shield - Web Shield now blocks Phishing sites even without the browser plugin Avast Online Security installed in the browser
  • New Cleanup Premium - Cleanup is now standalone application, in beta you can use it even without license
  • New detection dialogues also for Behavioral Shield
  • Improved flow of all detection dialogues
  • Fixed animation of systray icon

Known issues

  • Active Game Mode does not suspend Avast pop-up dialogues
  • Avast service random crashes
  • Cleanup installation sometimes does not work on Windows 10

Wanted to post this as well. Avast should make the “Close and launch your Avast” button bigger or more visible. Of course the intention is to make people read what is said but there should be one bigger button for closing this message.

That is of course my opinion. Can Avast team share example of Behavior Shield’s new detection dialog?

In the Subscription page there is an entry saying “Avast Free Antivirus” in fact it is Avast Cleanup Beta, see attached image.

Anyone able to see what the Threat Alerts look like? on my Test System Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, only displays after I click on eicar.com download link, page cannot be displayed lol, and no alert from Avast 17.6.2308 at all

That machine is way underpowered, very sluggish lol, maybe that is why it’s not working properly, try not to beta test on my Windows 10 Pro x64bit 8 core system

How do we remove this after the beta (presumably it will require a clean install) ?

Well on this XP system I don’t see Avast Cleanup Premium in add remove programs.

I downloaded the full off-line setup file and installed over the top of 71.6.2307, not an update from the UI. I did a custom install. Given this was meant to be a stand alone installation of Avast Cleanup Premium I didn’t check the Performance > Cleanup option.

Unless this would also stop the stand alone installation, I don’t know, but it is likely since I see no entry for it in add remove programs.

For me, it was installed when I decided to run it in order to create the video
That’s why it now shows up in Programs and Features. :slight_smile:

Fix that problem
