What baffles me a bit more is how such bugs even come into existence during the development. I mean, such problems shouldn’t ever even come to a public BETA version.
I’m currently working with Avast to find out why the Behavior Shield doesn’t start when Avast starts.
So unless I turn it on manually, I don’t have to worry about it catching anything.
This reminds me old Network shield, its scan could not be excluded for a long time.
I can understand this kind of things may happen when structurally different components are merged, but still, should be fixed as soon as possible.
BTW with previous beta WebCam shield does not work for me, I’ll see what happens with this new beta…
Have you ever run a beta version ?
If so it remains on the beta channel so when a beta is released it would install it unless you had Program Updates to Manual or Ask when an update is available.
I’m on the beta channel and the current beta is sitting awaiting my pleasure (I have it set to Manual Update). You would get a Notification in the UI Notification area (Bell icon).
I also was promted to do this security update I have never been on beta channel always used a paid product Antivirus pro. This is not acceptable by Avast. I have not paid for an experimental version of the program. I realy want someone from the Avast team to give an answer how this happened ? And what to do about it.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it has been released without notification in the forums. We have seen this before, beta one day released the next and the same version number as the beta.
This in theory should never happen if you have never used the avast beta, you would/should be on the regular release channel.
It has been released to the stable channel. We’re still waiting on a changelog. The changelog should be released when the update is pushed. Unprofessional.
It never happened to me before and usally it says a new version of the program is available but this time it said it was a security update. And when you open the interface nothing says that this is a beta version. So hopefully it´s not. Don´t want any problems with this update. Was about to switch to Avast on my other pc but I think I wait for a while to see what happens on this update. And yesterday it was announced in this thread that this was a new beta version update. So i´m a bit confused to say the least.
