Hi Zeniit, thank you for your report. Could you please find the logs in “c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log” and "c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Persistent Data\Avast\Logs" paths, copy them into some temporary folder, make an ZIP archive of them (by 7zip, WinRar or so) and send them to our FTP[1] for further analysis? Thank you!
Hi Zeniit, thank you for the data you sent us. There is a crash in the Antivirus service which is already reported and will be fixed in one of the near beta updates. I am trying to figure out if there is any program configuration (e.g. without some component) that would give you an option to continue in using beta build without this problem. Will get back to you. Have a nice day. Petr
Hi Zeniit and NON, the problem is related to standalone Avast Secureline VPN product which seems to be installed (or was in the past) on the machine.
If you do not use it or is not installed, please find this registry key and delete it (backup of registry is recommended before you do this).
x86 platform: “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVAST Software”
x64 platform: “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AVAST Software”
If you use this product, then please install the component also into the Avast via installation package where it is possible to add it (look for SecureLine VPN component in the installation). Once completed, the crash should not occur. If so, please send us new logs on FTP. Thank you!
Hi westk, we tested the build on Windows 8.1 (both architectures) with no BSOD result. As there is usually a DMP file created after BSOD, could you please find the latest one, pack it via 7zip or WinRar (make a .zip of it) and upload it to our FTP[1] for further analysis? Could you please also let us know more information about how it happened? If you just updated, or installed. If it happened after the computer restart or even before, etc. Thank you! Petr
Hi Petr, thanks for your answer. Yes I installed stand-alone version of SecureLine. I installed SecureLine component into Avast and problem now seems resolved. 8)
I dont have any dmp in my system. But I have a lot of errors in event viewer before the BSOD
I have cleaned my system completely from Avast products before testing for 2nd time but I dont have luck. I gonna wait another beta.
