Enjoy this beta!
We are looking forward to your feedback.
Also please be informed that we would appreciate if you would be so kind and try our Antivirus product based on so called “icarus” setup (installation and update engine) already used for other Avast products but now available also for AV. More information is here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=264883.0. Please note that in order to get it, you need to uninstall the current one (automatic migration is not supported at the moment).
Once you have UI in version 1.0.670+ it should be visible in Settings → Protection → Core Shields → Web Shield → Enable automatic changing of online fingerprint, We have activated the antitrack feature to further test it
whether the feature can be activated by free users or only paid ones ?
and will there be additional fees if you activate the feature because avast anti track is basically a paid application ?
Thanks for the question. The option is for now available in beta also for free users. There are no fees related to this feature. Once we have enough data from beta program we will disable the feature again and it will be available in Avast One only.
what’s the difference with avast anti finger print in ABS ?
I hope that the anti-finger print and anti-tracking features are included in the web shield in general, not only in ABS
Dev-Info:If you only need basic anti-tracking without the additional features found in Avast AntiTrack (https://www.avast.com/en-us/antitrack#look) then Avast Secure Browser should suffice.
In fact, I would be very happy if the antitrack feature was implemented in the web shield so that browsing the site is faster and safer and the feature is free for all users which will increase the sense of security and comfort in surfing the web which has a lot of data stalkers.
yes i agree not everything can be obtained for free but can avast provide an anti finger print feature in the form of extensions for other browsers such as edge, firefox or opera
If they already exist on other browsers, why would you need anything more.
Paid products are always going to include other features not in free versions. Otherwise no one would purchase them, then ultimately there would be no free version.
If you feel it is that important to you then you can get always Avast One.
Is this still the case with the regular release of Avast (not the beta) - 21.9 (21.9.2493) released 3 days ago (I haven’t updated/installed that) ? https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=306968.0
Or is this my pet hate, not changing the version number when going from beta version to regular release.
