there is a new beta version ready - build 26.5.10955.

:hammer_and_wrench: What Was Fixed

Stability & Crashes

  • Safe Mode Blue Screen Fix: A rare problem that could cause Windows to crash with a blue screen when entering Safe Mode due to a self-protection driver error has been fixed. Safe Mode should now start normally on affected systems.
  • Licensing Service Crash During Upgrade: A crash in the licensing service during certain license upgrade scenarios has been resolved by removing a hidden deadlock. License upgrades should now complete without service failures.
  • Safer Crash Reporting: Internal crash-report creation in the licensing service has been hardened so that, even if something goes wrong, the crash report is generated without causing additional failures.

AI / DeepFake / Media Features

  • GPU Recovery for DeepFake & Screen Capture: If your graphics driver restarts or the GPU is temporarily lost, DeepFake and media-scan features now automatically recover instead of silently freezing video or analysis.
  • CPU-Only Stability: On systems where AI models run on the CPU instead of the GPU, shutting down the AI model host is now handled cleanly, avoiding occasional crashes when closing or toggling the feature.

Cleanup & Shredder Licensing

  • Shredder Context Menu Reliability: In Avast One Free, the secure delete (Shredder) option in the right-click menu now correctly appears only when the feature is installed and licensed, and hides again when it is not.
  • Cleanup Policy & License Sync: Internal policy and license events for Cleanup/Data Shredder now stay in sync more reliably, reducing cases where the feature looked active in the UI but did not offer context-menu actions.

Any news on the Release notes for Avast 26.4 ?
Which although released there is no notification in the main - Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security forum.

Is there a problem with 26.4 that is delaying the publication of Release Notes here on the forum by Avast staff ?

David, As you raised the question regarding lack of Release Notes for 26.4, I simply quoted your post as reference, then continued with my similar question.
My question was intended for Avast staff, not a reply to your post. Maybe I should have made that clearer.
Both our questions re Release Notes seem to have been ignored by Avast staff.
I have not yet manually updated to 26.4.
