What is New
Web Protection
Web Protection for Sandboxed Browsers: Web protection now checks traffic from browsers that run their network connections in a sandbox. That traffic was skipped before. This also closes a way for an app to hide its traffic from web protection.
AI Assistant Protection
Permission Prompts Remember Your Answer: Allow read-only access once and reading is allowed from then on. You are asked again only if the AI assistant tries to make a change. A blocked answer works the same way in reverse. You can also apply one answer to a folder and everything inside it.
Blocked Activity in the Event Log: The event log now records what an AI assistant was stopped from doing. Each entry shows the reason, the file or setting involved, whether it was a read or a change, and which assistant it was.
What Was Fixed
AI Assistant Protection
Missing Permission Prompt: When an AI assistant did two actions one straight after the other, the second permission prompt could fail to appear. Both prompts now show.
Known Issues
Memory Use While Handling Network Traffic: Certain empty network packets slowly increase memory use.
Product Self-Protection
Protected File Enforcement [Critical]: A file protected by the product can be changed or deleted in a case where the change should have been blocked.
Installation & Upgrade
Record of Installed Apps After Upgrade [Critical]: After an upgrade from the previous version, Avast One can keep an out-of-date record of which standalone apps are installed.
VPN Driver Installation: The VPN network driver can fail to install, which stops the VPN from working.
Leftovers After Uninstall: Uninstalling standalone Avast or AVG leaves behind one entry used for browser communication.
App Interface
Occasional Crashes: Avast One can close unexpectedly while a Smart Scan runs. The part of the app that displays web content can also crash.
Notifications
Duplicate Notification Handling: A Norton notification is registered twice, so the same background update runs more than once.
Identity Protection
Alert Counts Do Not Match: The number of alerts shown in the notification, in the dashboard and in the online portal can differ.
