New Build, Loaded Avast and won't complete Optimize Scan??

I just finished building a computer and the O/S is Vista Ultimate 64. I am trying to figure out why the scan stops after running about an hour and then gives me an error that it wasn’t able to finish?? Also, is their an explanation as to why there are so many errors detected on a new build? I can’t see that the manufacturer’s could screw up that many times. I think I was up to 3000 errors before it quit. I started the scan again and was going to wait to post but was curious if there is an explanation to this problem.

A little more information on the scan stopping. When the second attempt to run the Optimizer scan stopped, I got a pop-up window that says “Advanced Registry Optimizer has stopped working”. I have two options. Check online for solution and close program or close program. There is a drop down item that says “problem details”. This is what it says:

Maybe I’m missing something obvious here :slight_smile: - but since it’s Advanced Registry Optimizer that is crashing, i.e. not any part of avast! - maybe you could ask the authors of ARO for assistance? :wink:
