Why can’t you get it from avast! ?

Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.

I got the lic key in a download attachment from them. The lic key will not open so I saved it to notebook. That did me no good as I cannot figure out how to get the lic key from notebook to avast. This is a hopeless situation. I knew I should have never upgraded my computer until my avast subscription expired. There is “NO ONE” around that can fix this for me so----laptop never goes on the internet, what a pity.

Install avast into machine.

Open avast and go to maintenance>registration.

Click “Insert avast! Pro Antivirus / Internet Security license file” (no quotation marks).

Point it where the license file is saved.

Click open.

Avast will now update to Pro or IS version depending on your license file.

When I try to install avast internet security it wants me to pay first, I already paid back in may. I have one email from avast support (ASW #HOM-710973) which tells me to install avast “twice” as an administrater. I am certain that thousands of users have the same exact trouble after they upgrade their hard drive and need to re install avast. They really need to make this procedure seamless and easy for paid subscribers or else we’ll all head for Macafee.

does this help?

I finally have avast internet security on my laptop. I completely disregarded the fact that I paid for a two year subscription back in May and just purchased a new subscription for one year. I just through away $40 for nothing but at least I now have security. Avast can do the honorable thing and go into my account and credit the extra year giving me a total of three years protection or they can choose to do nothing at all. My money is on “do nothing at all”. I think avast makes it difficult to re-install their software intentionally to prompt people to do what I did.
