I have installed many times Avast Home edition for several people on various Windows platforms.
This time I have problems with Windows 98 Second Edition (Dutch). After install the scanner willnot show Access control but in the icon next to the clock is a red stop sign.
I have re-install Avast Home, with serial, no progress.
Please, how knows the solution?

Is there any other antivirus installed? Any other security program?
Startup monitors?
I suppose you’re trying to install the last avast version in the default path, am I right?
This is more associated with having another AV installed or remnants left after uninstall.
Have (or did) they have another AV installed in this system, if so what and how did you get rid of it ?
