My computer has been infected by a rogue program that is attempting to modify other programs.
It is being blocked by PG, but how do I remove the rogue program?
Its identity is : ivprcsvr.exe
Any good ideas?

Well a google search for the file name you gave returns zero hits, which in itself is suspicious.
I assume that avast isn’t detecting it ?
Where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Upload the file/s to VirusTotal, Send a sample to avast if multiple detections at VT (see below).
Check the suspect file/s at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here in the topic.
Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a reference to this topic (give URL) and undetected malware in the subject.
