we will soon be releasing a new program update of avast. And as usual, we’re making it available for public testing a few days before the official release. Edit: now updated to build 6.0.1035.
This is hopefully going to be a smooth service release, designed really just to fix some of the issues of the original v6.0.1000 build.
Here’s the list of the most important changes:
solved an incompatibility with ZoneAlarm (WinXP)
improved installation of the WebRep plugins (especially Firefox)
solved a crash condition in the avast sandbox
setup programs now smaller by ~20%
Community features and the Welcome screen can now be turned on/off directly from program settings
solved an incompatibility with Outpost firewall
solved a bug related to the AutoSandbox offer (WinXP)
gadget can now be removed by simply closing it
new setup icons
New in v6.0.1027:
attempt to fix new compatibility problems with GameGuard and sXe rootkits
SafeZone improvements
localization updates (including WebRep)
improved sandbox logging)
SafeZone is now a standalone setup package (can be installed/uninstalled separately)
And new in v6.0.1035:
solved Firefox WebRep plugin on non-English Windows
solved a few incompatibility problems in BehavShield (e.g. TeraCopy)
improvements in password processing
improvements in the program uninstaller
sandbox improvements
fixed various UI issues introduced in the previous pre-release build

You can either install from scratch, or over an existing installation of avast (any version). Users of the previous pre-release builds (6.0.1021, 6.0.1027) can also use the built-in program updater.
I have updated on the top of 6.0.1000 I have WebRep working in Windows 7, AutoSandbox is back… everything seems to be working good in W7… I will reporte later about Windows XP SP3…rm
Updated Pro via GUI with no obvious anomalies except WebRep. W7x64SP1. In FF4RC2, functions but no ratings-may just be server down. In IE9, as before, bar chart line is in GUI but not functional-you can’t select it. I have also noticed a couple of cases previously where programs were silently prevented from installing; suspending Avast! temporarily fixed the problem. Will look for it more carefully in this build. Wondering if it could have anything to do with initially downloading them from a sandboxed browser, even though they are saved outside the sandbox, but ???
Yeah, the WebRep server seems to be down again which unfortunately isn’t very good for testing the new update. Hopefully, it will be up again soon. Till then, the ratings will be gray and/or missing…
Updated from the 1027 UI Summary screen on my win7 netbook, got notification when I booted it up. Update appeared to be fine and system rebooted normally after update.
WebRep icon back in firefox (server seems to be up, green) and auto-sandbox now back in the Additional Protection list.
Updated from 6.0.1027 to 6.0.1035 via AvastUI. As DavidR stated, AutoSandbox is back in Additional Protection. Did a Quick Scan after rebooting. So far, all seems well.
Most complaints about grey icon come from webrep cannot connect to server issue. What’s really need is a different way to tell users that the server has taken a nap yet again, instead of using the same icon for both no rating and cannot to server. >:(
