New update (4.7.826)

In Windows Explorer; it says “Access denied”
I can’t open it / erase it.
I can’t enter the folder
When i reboot in safe mode, it says that there is no proprietary for the folder ???
So i appropriate to myself and then i can enter it.

The Services of Avast are all NOT running

– Excuse me for my English –

This is how it looks (Greek windows, I know, but I think you’ll get the picture)

…and Unlocker

hey greenhatch, you're not the only one.

when i did a manual update, it downloaded the update, it showed the package was corrupt and i had to reboot.
now there’s no avast. it won’t reload, not even older versions. it’s corrupted other apps.

I have the same Problem. I can not start Avast after update. And i can not uninstall it. It is looked.

Ciao Jörg

Oops, that’s certainly not correct.
So, you simply invoked the program update from the tray icon and this was the result? What user were you logged on as when you started the update?

I have the same as Spyros
I invoked the update from the tray icon in my user session
It is the only user session of the computer and i have admin’s right

Exactly.

I'm not the only user of this PC, but I believe my acount has administrative rights, I mean, I never had this problem before, nor with avast or any other program!

Yes, I too.

I had to delete the avast4 directory manually, after following http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810881&sd=RMVP

where can i get a copy of the previous version (4.7.817)?

Spyros, heinblöd: can you please add yourself some rights for the avast folder and upload the setup.log from there to ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming (under some random name)?
Thanks.

Reinstalled avast! but it was dead!

Had to do a system restore to be able to uninstall.

My System Restore attempt didn’t fix my similar problem too.

Hmmmm, very weird. It won’t let me! I mean, I can’t click on the options as with other programs. I’ll have to use unlocker after all. I’ll close the internet connection first and I’ll get back to you later.

Upload my setup.log on your ftp server
with this name : Problem with version 4.7.826.setup.log

On the dialog you posted (the one with the permissions, which is empty), click on the “Add” button, enter a username (could be e.g. “everyone”) and confirm.

OK Igor, now I can see it. How do I upload via FTP (sorry for the stupid questions but I’ve done that before :-[)

Send it to me by e-mail

Sent!

Oh, I forgot. After the update, avast! tried (unsuccesfuly) to update VDF and presented a message that my licence is about to expire - licence is good 'till 1/1/2007, system date & time is correct.
??? ??? ???

Igor, have you noticed this line on my log?
