We had a new Avast update. Now every time I try to input a credit card number for payment the Avast Browser closes. I find I need to open a different browser to be able to complete any transaction. Am I alone in this problem? Any solutions?

Your’e not alone I also have the same problem.
If you have had a new update and this happened, then try a system Restart (not shutdown/startup).
If you have had an update then I would expect a Restart would be done as part of that process anyhow. But a second restart will not hurt.
You can also try doing a Repair of Avast
Avast UI>Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting [REPAIR APP]
