Avast Premier was recommended as an improvement over the Norton Anti-Virus that Comcast includes “for free”. Wrong. NOW I’m having even more freeze-ups.
Avast is freezing my Chrome and IE browsers. That has caused me to lose data in open programs.
Others with the same problem mentioned that they were running 32-bit systems (mine is Vista). As recommended, I disabled the “Web Protection” and have not had a freeze-up for an hour. But I shouldn’t have to do that.
What is the issue? I am purposely running the 32-bit Vista system.
This is totally unacceptable. I paid $99 and this is much worse than Norton ever dreamed of being.
Yes good point Red has made.
Also I’m not sure just what has been disabled by the OP when it says “Web Protection”;The Web Shield or Online Security Browser Protection ???
Yes, I used the Norton removal tool; I am an experience PC user.
I also am quite tired of “ads” to sell me more products that Norton was performing at no extra cost. Since we are paying for Norton in our Comcast account, I am just going to return to it and hope I can delete this. I had never had blue screens until I installed Avast.
