New user: Errors

I am a new user installed Avast!4 today:
I am a Dutch user so the errors are in Dutch.

When i click the icon in the taskbar a get:
Het AAVM subsysteem detecteerde een RPC fout.
translation: The AAVM subsysten detect a RPC error.

Right clicking the icon and choosing starting avast! Antivirus
the program gives error:
error 0x000000c1 \Avast\ashSimpl.exe

is there a solution?

Kees

Not sure what is going on. Do you suspect a bad install?

Yes, I do.
I have uninstalled eSafe virusscan and cleaned up the register.
Then reinstalled Avast! for 2 times.
I am afraid a have format. Kees

Please send me the file ashSimpl.exe. I’ll try to look at it.

Thanks
Vlk

Hi,
The file is send to you on 03 february.
to: support@asw.cz

best regards,
Kees

It’s better to send it directly to my email address. Otherwise, it may take much longer to get to the right place.

Sorry for this confusion
Vlk

Hi Vlk,

Good news and Bad news.

First The Bad news
I have uninstalled the program after I send you the file.
So I don’t have it any more. ( but you should :D)

The good news:
I have reinstalled Avast! and it works ???

What do i different.
first i installed on the ‘D’ partition as i have most of the programs.
That did not work. Even after a format C and a reinstall.
I tried that for at least 5 times.

Then I tried installing on ‘C’ and that works ;D

So i think there is a problem someware and it seem good to me if
you have a look at the file. (If you got it)

Whaiting to hear from you,

Regards,
Kees

The file is definitely OK… so there must’ve been some other problem.
Maybe access right? ???

Hi Vlk,

I don’t think it has anything to do with access right.
Well, for the moment the problem is solved
Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Kees

I just installed avast! yesterday.
Now, I cannot receive any email through my outlook express.
A pop-up window keeps asking me for my password.
My password is typed in the password field, but avast!
still will not let me download any new incoming emails.
It is very frustrating that avast! does not have a good
help section on your web site.
I am sure that my questions are easy to answer and it would be more conventient if I could look up the answers on your site rather than having to type an email to you.

I have uninstall avast! just so I can read my email
and do my work now.
