I assume this means it won’t be automatically installed and added when we update?
New Avast Passwords Manager works mostly fine, great job Avast team.
One thing I noticed is, APM asked to download/print Recovery Key, but when I click “Download” it just spinning and nothing happened; I can’t download/print Recovery Key. I’m using Firefox.
I used my smartphone to create it and it worked. @lukas.hasik
No. It’s not a bug to be addressed; it’s how it designed to work, at least for now, and it has been like that since its release in beta channel, say years ago. I agree some may have problems with that, but I would suggest that it is time to accept reality. I don’t expect things changed that soon if happened.
Windows doesn’t register the december updates to 24.12 correctly. Have been using avast for years, never had a problem with updates. First it complained about the antispyware/malware function not being active. firewall and anti-virus were registered normally. If i wanted to activate it, it asked to trust the publisher…then nothing happens. Did a wmi reset, de-installated avast with your dedicated de-installer. Made a fresh install, now windows complained ‘there is no anti-spyware/malware app’. All the rest was normally registered and functioning.
With the second ‘bug fix’ update, windows notifies that defender and avast are both active as anti-virus and ‘this could slow down the computer’. Normally defender is blanked out if you install a 3th party anti-virus. I checked it and indeed, defender was active. I went to a system restore point prior to the last update. Now the firewall is taken over by windows firewall and anti malware by windows defender. So i went back to an image i made in november. Avast back to version 24.11 and everything is back to normal. Avast is registered normally as firewall, anti-virus and anti-malware app. Windows firewall and defender are de-activated. On another laptop the same thing. So there must be something with the update that makes windows not recognising it correctly. I did a wmi reset, a sfc scan but nothing works to solve the problem besides going back to version 24.11. Anybody else have the same problem? How do you fix this if it’s windows related, or is it a minor bug in the avast update that is going to be fixed in the next update?
Hi! Sorry, but I don’t get it. I didn’t find that warning in the product UI. Could you please explain better, how can I install this new Avast Passwords?
Is it normal for Avast to always send small updates within the same month?
Because from what I remember it was always sent once a month, was anything changed?
Because at the beginning of the month, on December 3rd, I had this version below.
That’s why I have this question: is it possible to update twice in the same month now?
A research I did on the “a” ending in the Avast version.
The “a” ending in the Avast version name usually indicates that it is an Alpha version. Alpha versions are pre-release versions that are still in the testing and development phase. They are used to identify and fix bugs before the official release of the stable version.
