I have seen it after actual user initiated manual program updates, but it wasnāt there after this incremental/unannounced update and still being on Avast 25.5.
So the subsequent backdoor update didnāt trigger this.
So I would agree with your suggestion to be able to access this list outside of program updates.
Or, you knowā¦ they could just be transparent and upfront about telemetry. Use of generic and vague language in the changelogs is never to the benefit of end users.

OK, the parameter is there to indicate whether it is customized or not customized.
However, my (our?) concern is not about data collection, but rather about the oncoming of these ads whenālike meāwe are paying users and have set our preferences not to receive them, but we receive them anyway.

I donāt have and have never had this setting, and this is the first time Iāve seen this kind of notification on my computer.
As I said above in response to DavidR, I donāt think it appeared as a result of a program update. I was thinking of a UI update (which would make sense, given that this new feature affects the UI itself). But DavidR seems to be saying that it is present with UI v.1.0.839.
That said, this 1.0.839 UI version may have already included the change, and the update may have taken place a few days/weeks after program update 25.5.
But I agree, there are no specific UI updates; they are certainly integrated into one of the VPS (or emergency) updates.
I have to suppose that this User Interface bleeding off the edge of the dialogue box was intentional?

Strangely today ive just checked and got an update to 25/7 from July which i already loaded.
BUT my computer booted to bios screen this morning and F1 was the only way to get out of it and once logged in my clock was set to the time i logged out last night with yesterdays date. reset that and about to load this update.
sadly maybe time to move over to the crap windows 11 pc 
so update sucessful and now shows as 25.8

Broken clock often caused by running out of coin battery on your motherboard. Set bios to default also may help.
I had already noticed this a long time ago, and I can assure you that this display is not new.
This happens with every update notification; you may just never have noticed it before. 
(If you search the forum, you should find other screenshots like yours).
I think the surprise comes from the fact that generally when an update is available on other products, it says āan update (x.x.xxx) is available, do you want to download it?ā
Here the syntax is not the same, it says:
āAPS update availableā (without specifying which one)
and below
āthe release date was July 24, 2025ā¦ā (meaning that this is the version installed at time ātā before the future update, and that the release date of this version was July 24).
No doubt you will receive the same type of notification for the next update.

What should I say, since I still have Windows 7? 
But I didnāt encounter any problems with the 25.7 ā 25.8 update on W7 (nomore with 2nd W10).
As āNONā assumes about your BIOS startup, I think itās more an external issue than Avast issue.

As for the release notes, this version only fixes a few bugs, nothing new in terms of new features (normally).
I actually did think of the battery giving up as the main battery is almost flat as a pancake as well but first time its done this with the bios then clock. rebooted since and starts as normal but im guessing this Ā£2000 gaming laptop is slowly fading out after 13 years of daily use. I was hoping to update with the extended ESU but its not showing that option. maybe because ive never synched it with microsoft but trying to update this it wants to change my 4 digit login to my microsoft email logine which is 20 charectors long and even with a password manager you cant use the saved to login to the computer.
