Please welcome the version 25.8 of Avast AV released on August 20th 2025

Major public announcement:

  • Control how your offers are personalized
    By default, you’ll see targeted discounts, like loyalty offers, based on how you use Avast. You can turn this off anytime to see regular offers instead.

  • :hammer::beetle:fixes to increase product stability and product performance in various components

How to install:

  • Update from your existing Avast version via Settings → Update → Update program

  • Or you can download and install files:

That was already a thing for weeks or months. Even retroactively in older builds. And just now it is publicly declared. Not the order in which this should happen.

At last, public announcement of August version that was released over 2 weeks ago. Perhaps Avast staff have returned after their summer holidays :slight_smile:

I hope we do not have to wait so long for announcement of September version.

Maybe we’ll get lucky? - And the September update will arrive in early October? :heart_eyes:

I really hope it fixes the self-created problem with the “too many devices” message, which prevents expensive Avast apps from being used.

Not too forget the inability for Avast Free users to renew their free subscription issue running rampant in the forum/community..

If they can’t do that it is highly unlikely they would purchase a paid version.

When is Avast going to give us a complete list of update fix detail changes in v25.8, how are we all going to know what’s going?

I’ve been waiting for this for a while, but I don’t think there’s a detailed list.

Several people here on the forum have already asked questions, but no one has an answer about what was fixed/changed, with more details.
