DEEPFAKE PROTECTION
AI detection models now each run in their own dedicated background process, making Deepfake protection more stable and resilient — a crash or issue in one model no longer affects the others.
You can now control QR code scanning within Deepfake protection directly from settings, giving you more flexibility over how the feature runs on your device.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES IMPROVEMENTS
The browser rendering engine used by the app interface has been updated to the latest version, improving compatibility and overall UI stability.
What Was Fixed
INSTALLER & SETUP
Fixed an issue where the installer incorrectly showed a “downloading files” message when performing an offline installation.
Fixed installer checkboxes appearing on the wrong side of the screen for right-to-left languages.
Fixed a layout issue that caused a scrollbar to appear on the installer welcome screen for certain languages.
Fixed the language selector not displaying the currently selected language correctly during installation.
Fixed an issue where certain install or product change operations could fail silently on some system configurations.
Fixed a problem where uninstalling the product could leave behind an empty folder on your hard drive.
Fixed an issue where the Tab key did not work correctly when navigating the uninstall screen.
Updated the privacy notice link label shown in the installer to reflect the current wording.
STABILITY & CRASHES
Fixed a rare system crash (blue screen) that could occur in the Firewall component under certain conditions.
Fixed a crash that could occur in the Avast application window under certain desktop configurations.
Fixed an issue that could cause Deepfake screen protection to stop working after a graphics driver event or device change.
VPN (PREMIUM SECURITY)
Fixed VPN failing to connect when certain third-party VPN software was also installed on the same device.
LICENSING & ACCOUNT
Fixed an issue where Avast Free users could see an incorrect or expired licence status in the app, even though their free protection was active. The app now correctly reflects the current status.
Fixed a problem where the licence status was not updating correctly following reinstallation on some devices.
Fixed an issue where a licence refresh could trigger immediately after a product upgrade, rather than on its normal schedule.
Fixed an issue where your account was not signed in automatically after upgrading from a standalone Avast product.
CLEANUP
Fixed the Cleanup dashboard showing only partial content after running a scan.
