New version, but which one is it?

Avast Free reports that there is a new version.
Which is? Is it March or April?
Nothing has been posted on the forum yet about the new version.

I still have 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) and no notifications.

It would be 24.3.xxxx as that is/was the current beta. With millions of users updates are going to be spread to balance server load. Recently the Release notification in the forums has been somewhat tardy.

also received today 2nd april on paid premium and says 14 march release.

so i guess this release https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=326953.0

bug update

I wouldn’t expect a post earlier than tomorrow (Wed. April 3). The last few updates in 2023 I have noticed were pushed out to me on Tuesday and then the post came on Wednesday. Then the 2024 updates, as has been documented on the forums, have been a bit delayed.

Just happy they got rid of the “YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED” screen for this update.

Only if I go looking in the Menu > Settings, Update does it mention a new update (my installation is set to Manual Program Update).

I just wonder if this is 24.3.xxxx or a build catchup as my 24.2.xxxx was a little off on the build version.

Will find out soon.

Quite correct no Avast release note has been posted yet.

@ David R see attached pictures below.

Have you done a restart yet ?
I haven’t yet, too much going on at the moment. And Firefox is playing up wanting to close all of my open tabs, not what I want.

Whilst the files executable version number/history might have changed, but a restart would need to see it in the UI.

Downloaded the file but no installation, so no.

Will update when this is done.

I know on Chrome you can re-open previously closed tabs with Ctrl+Shift+T, even after a browser exit and a computer restart. Does a similar thing work in Firefox?

Thanks, I’m going to have to bite the bullet soon but before I do I’m doing a lot of backing up to be able to restore.

I’ve done a load of searches, but all for old ff versions for the settings and they pretty much match all of my settings. But when I try to shut down I get a warning not no option to ignore and not close them.

Don’t want to drag the topic off track.

Edit: despite what it said, it didn’t close the open and pinned tabs.

Here she blows!
