I just switched from AVG 8 to AVAST. I visit several forums that require logging in in order to access them. Prior to using AVAST, I was able to get Firefox to automatically log me in. Now, I must enter my login name and password each time I visit a website. How do I disable this protection so I can go back to being lazy and just automatically logging in with each visit. Did a quick forum search but I couldn’t find the answer I was hoping for,
This should have nothing to do with avast that I can see. There should be a setting in your browser to set cookies. I’m not a user of FF, but I would suspect it would be under Tools and Privacy setting.
Didn’t change any settings regarding cookies or private data clearing. Had a look and my settings still haven’t changed.
FF 3.0.2 had a problem with password saving.
Update to FF 3.0.3
Hi :
This is a long-shot, but did you run “AVG Remover” from www.avg.com/download-tools to make sure AVG has been completely
“removed” from your computer !?
Nope, I’ll give it a try. Thanks.
No luck. Every time I restart Firefox now, all my login names and passwords have to be reentered. Annoying!
But the problem is what does this have to do with avast?
Isn’t it a problem with FF?
Strange uh? ???
Firefox worked fine until I installed Avast this morning. No firefox update so the only thing that’s changed is my switch from AVG to Avast.
Not using ZoneAlarm Firewall are you? If you are! try lowering Privacy(Cookie Control,Add Blocking,Mobile Code Control) to Medium see if this helps? I had a similar problem with FF in the end I turned ZA privacy Setting OFF this has been a long term problem with ZA.
Nope. Not using anything but Avast! and I’ve disabled everything but standard shield.
Hum! My problem with FF and Password login was a Cookie problem with ZA. What are your settings in FF Tools/Options/Privacy?
