Hello, there’s my problem: scan task - actions on viruses : repair if failed delete file … start scanning, then reporting…studying the report: there are no actions on 55% files - why?
Can you post a piece of the report?
what piece of report?
The one you were studying
I mean, I’d like to see the filenames, infections, actions, etc.
OK I see, but firstly, can You tell me how can I get a report with information about all viruses, infected files, virus actions summary and actions on these viruses on the computer? there is no standart report that could include the whole information… then I’ll be able to give that information to You.
Secondly, when we start to scan task on one computer, avast finds viruses and moves them to chest. Then we start to scan this computer again, and avast finds viruses again but in the other files. Why doesn’t it find viruses in the first time? may be there are viruses in the RAM? How can we check, if the computer is clear or infected?
After the second question I tried to check action on viruses, so - no actions, then comes the topic of the post, may be I’m on the wrong way?
Of course there is a full report in the report folder of avast and, besides, you can log all the antivirus operations, and see them after with the Log Viewer.
Replicant virus, if removed in the first time could ‘appear again’ later. Some viruses are stored in the ‘Restore’ folder of Windows (or temporary files). Both folders should be emptied to fully remotion.
Well, I just wanted to see what exactly we are talking about.
A screenshot of the window you were looking at (in the first post) would probably be enough.
If infected files reappear, it may have more reasons. Either there’s an undetected virus in memory or on disk that recreates (drops) other files, or the files may get there in different ways (through network shares from other computers, through unpatched vulnerable applications - such as browsers - during the browsing, etc).
If you post the exact file names and the reported virus names, it might help.
may be I’m blind… but I can’t find full report. tell me, what should I do? what is the name of this report? Is this report generated with the help of ADNM? what is Log Viewer? How does it look?
How can I fight with replicant viruses? Can I order to start scanning the clients computer after rebooting, when it starts loading? What is the way to do this?
Please tell me, what should I do step by step?
You tell me how can I get a report with information about all viruses, infected files, virus actions summary and actions on these viruses on the computer? there is no standart report that could include the whole information...
That should be the “Virus Infections Summary” report…
BTW what virus(es) are we talking about, exactly?
Thanks
Vlk
I’m sorry, can you show me the location of this report? Cann’t see it at all…
and the last one… there’s no “virus infection summary”
there’s no action on:
win32:Nimda [wrm]
win32: Trojano-3428[Trj]
win32:Feebs-D2[Wrm]
Which version of ADNM are you using? The Virus Infection Summary report was added in version 4.6.452, released on February 10, 2006 (see http://www.avast.com/eng/adnm-revision-history.html for details).
If you’re not using the latest version, you can easily update to it by going to Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs → Avast Management Tools → Change/Remove → Update.
Thanks

Thanks!
and now, there is such a wonderful report! great!
but what about viruses… it’s interesting cause sometimes, adnm says that the file moved to chest, some times - deleted, and sometimes - no action, why?
please tell me, can I ask (remotely, from the adnm) the clients computer to scan for viruses after rebooting the comp?
Sessions - local Scanners
I can see the infected files, the name of the virus and the operation there… so sometimes there is no action…
Is there any way to learn that the clients comp is clear?
The local scanners folder lists viruses found during an on-demand scan initiated by the user itself, on his own machine. I.e. an on-demand scan was run, found some viruses, and the user didn’t instruct avast to do an action on them…
Is there any way to learn that the clients comp is clear?
Of course. Run your own on-demand scanning task on them (from the ADNM). If you want, you can schedule it for periodic (e.g. Friday-nightly) running.
Thanks
Vlk
there are two parts of the report, please explain, why does avast do nothing?
As I said :). If they were detected by a LOCAL SCANNER (i.e. a user-initiated scan), the action SOLELY depends on the user (i.e. what action the user who’s running the scanner selects). In other words, local scanners are unmanaged, i.e. it’s a tool that can be used by the local user to e.g. scan his floppy disk.
You should schedule an on-demand scanning task from ADNM to verify that the viruses are still there, and take actions on them.
I hope this helps
Vlk
OK… look here… there is Feebs-D, and that is the report after on-demand scanning. right?
so, the report in server-side task (virus infection summary) shows me only local scanner results, do it?
