No External Storage Scan Option?

Just updated to Version 5.0.13-8860-5cd2ca3 and in the Advanced Settings of the Protection feature, there is only an option to scan Internal storage. Is there any hope that an external storage option will be implemented for those that still use/have SD card?

Hi,

there are plans to look into it in the future, the problem is the API is non-existent on some versions of the OS and keeps changing on the others so it’s not like we can develop it once and have all the devices covered.

Lack of ability to scan micro SD is a “show stopper.” Other free android anti-virus apps on market still have this capability. What is avast’s current position on micro SD card scan? Thank you

Respectfully, reply #1 was issued ~ thirty days ago. There have been updates to firewall issue during same time period; would appreciate update related to external storage scan.

You convinced yourself to do so.
I only gave you information and what you do with it is entirely up to you.

If a car doesn’t run I can tell you it does run but that will not change the fact that it doesn’t.

Sure, I rather would have told you that external storage scanning will be there after the next update.
But since I have no indication at all that it will be there, I’m not gonna say it will.
And I can’t change it.
I am not working for/at avast.
