Here’s what I have.

Avast says threat detected every few minutes, the process is always C:\Windows\explorer.exe
Firefox, interestingly, says its already running when there is no process for it in task manager.
Whenever the computer reboots, catalyst control center stops working.

I can’t get aswMBR to run for some reason…

Whilst I am looking at the logs let me know if this is able to run

Download the latest version of TDSSKiller from here and save it to your Desktop.

[*]Doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application

[*]Check the boxes beside Verify Driver Digital Signature and Detect TDLFS file system, then click OK.

[*]Click the Start Scan button.

[*]If a suspicious object is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.

[*]If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results and offer three (3) options.
[*]Ensure Cure is selected, then click Continue => Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.

For both aswMBR and that tdsskiller, the only thing that I can tell is happening is that the processes are being killed right after they start. I can see them appear in the task manager list but they are gone just as fast.

Could you reboot the computer and immeditaly press and hold F8 on the menu that appears is there the option "repair my computer " ?

If not do you have a windows cd ?

If not do you have a spare USB drive ?
