Hi, First let me state I’m an unemployed Graphic Designer at the moment and can only afford one internet, smartphone or home internet, I chose smartphone because it’s mobile. I use to be able to go to Avast login by my phone browser then login at Avast then access a registration file to download then Bluetooth the file over to my desktop (dual boot Win 7 & Win10) and registration was good for another year (I also downloaded offline installer virus definitions updates in this manner also). I recently downloaded the newest 17.6.2310 free 277MB offline install Avast and Bluetoothed it over to my desktop, unistalled the old Avast, totally cleaned the registry, installed the new Avast, restarted the PC, launched Avast and was greeted by “DANGER! Your license has expired”. Thought new Avast didn’t require registration but maybe requires internet connection for some reason at first launch, which I don’t have, but I do by smartphone internet. So my question is, where is the webpage I go to with my phone, login and download a registration verification file to insert so this “not licensed” message goes away? I searched and read all over wasting a half of a day (good thing I’m unemployed lol… : ). P.S. Though my desktop is not connected to the internet I still download items by phone and transfer them to PC and install them and still require protection. Thx.
Registration is history, see: https://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus

If Registration is History in new version 17.6.2310…Then why do I have this on my screen…huh?! Please don’t send us a link in an attempt to prove us wrong, send us a link to fix this, thank you.
Pat, there is nothing to fix as nothing is broken.
The registration process needs the system to be online.
But why not connect the system to the mobile and go online that way ?
Thanks Asyn, did you happen to read my first post where this desktop is not connected to the internet…Because I do not have internet connection in my house. Only smartphone internet. So there is no way this new installation can check-in with Avast.com. I am looking for a work around. (Everybody thinks everybody has internet these days.). It is against policy of my phone provider for me to teather my phone to desktop, it is reason enough for them to terminate my service.
Yep, follow the link in Reply #3.
I’ll wait 10 days and see if it goes away (they say it “even works offline”, but does that mean if you at least connect once for a confirmation?)…didn’t seem to work for them. It was easier when registration was required and I just went and got registration file to insert every year. LoL. Thx! Anyways!. Maybe just find another AV.
You’re welcome.
