still not able to get ng. tried install over top of current. tried repair. tried clean reinstall as per forum instructions plus search and remove leftovers thru explorer and registry. still no ng. worked fine on v2215. not even offered in v2218.
have requirements changed? can someone please post current requirements.
also , windows locks up after exit from either safezone or sandbox. ran chkdsk and sfc, no probs found.
any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
please see signature for specs.
I’ve heard they were blocking it because of some technical reason, but strangely enough, I was able to install it on both, my AMD E-450 Dual-Core APU laptopa nd Core i7 920 desktop.
What CPU and OS are you using exactly (in detail)?
Interesting as I haven’t spotted that particular piece of information.
Do you have a link or further information, I ask because we were seeing major PC resource consumption on both CPU and HD so I can see ’ blocking the installation’
I just never noticed anything from Avast ???
still hoping someone from avast would comment on current ng requirements. as stated in original post ng worked fine in previous version (2215) but not even offered in current version (2218).
have AMD-v enabled. however only 1.8 gig available ram on listed 2 gig system. guess i’m a tad short.
thank you so much for your quick response Milos. very much appreciated.
vista 32bit as stated in signature. has always worked on vista, only xp or earlier excluded.
do not expect ng to be offered after seeing post from Milos.
I believe my system qualifies for all of that, because it has been installed twice before and I had to uninstall it. But there is a missing requirement, CPU and there is no way I would run NG on my win7 system, it is grossly underpowered yet it passes the spec check.
Acer Aspire One, Win7 Starter (32bit) 10.1", 1024X600 screen, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Atom N255 (1.5GHz dual core) CPU and 250GB HDD.
Whilst out of the factory it only had 1GB RAM I immediately switched that out for a 2GB stick.
I might also add that 10% free space on drive C:\ isn’t a fixed size to be able to install ng and any virtual area/files.
Free space and this arbitrary percentage is a huge variable 10% of a large drive C Vs 10% of a small drive C could be a huge difference. Not to mention that windows doesn’t like you going below 15% free space when it comes to defrags, etc.
I realize ‘it is what it is’
Correct if I’m wrong, But that’s a pile of Resources and would require OS’s with 6-8GB RAM and more to run efficiently not to mention CPU requirements.
That’s going to illuminate Huge amounts of users (OS’s)
Well I must be out of touch with my thinking BUT, it seems ridiculous to me to have to have over 4GB of Ram just to run an Internet Security program ???
