No pop-up update of the virus datatbase?
:o
???
It’s enabled by default so it should be there. Unless if you’re using my config file or you’ve disabled it yourself…
Same here…!!!
And according to you, if I were to choose to turn it off, which is why I had to ask on the forum? You think I’m sleeping? :o
Hi, I miss those antivirus popup too - alerting you that your virus distinctions have been updated
I was told that in avast 2015 they was removed - I hope avast changes their minds ad re-enables it…

Steve
Developer said that they have disabled it since it’s inaccurate. Why? Because streaming updates update virus database 100’s of time a day.
We’ll see if they bring it back in future versions. Perhaps they add something like:
“In the past 24 hours, virus database has been updated 352 times” or similar.
Ooook, now i understand!
Thanks.
Thanks xsteveuk2.
I didn’t know about this change either (since i had update popups disabled anyway as i found them unnecessary). I only need to be notified if i’m not getting updates for whatever reason, otherwise i prefer not to be bothered. So, i like the change from the start…
perhaps when right clicking on the avast icon on the windows tray there could be a link added
That links to the component status - so can see update status of last 24 hours
Some time ago it was muted that the right click menu of the tray icon was going to be reviewed/expanded, etc. But it doesn’t appear to have happened yet.
Hi all,
yes we tried to be more silent in this version and show you just really important information. (and I admit sometimes ads in free version, in paid version you can turn them off via Settings). So there isn’t any VPS updated message, less frequent messages about new version and less frequent messages from Software Updater.
Yes the systray menu will be changed in next version in few months.
Thanks for all of that Martinz
Like RejZor, I normally had them disabled anyway.
Avast, if you do choose to resurrect some kind of database update notification, please retain the configurability so those of us who prefer not to be interrupted from our other activities can continue in this manner.
Thanks.
