I have been trying to get a refund from Avast for a month now. No one responds to the initial ticket number. Beware folks
Whatever you don’t submitting multiple tickets, this can actually slow the process as the tickets are dealt with in a first in first out basis. So for now don’t update or submit further tickets - refunds can take up to ten working days to be handled (so well outside this guide).
Please post your support ticket ID
You can however use the on-line contact form, http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles to contact Sales.
Put as much information in that as possible - Support ticket ID number (as you have here), receipt/payment number, email, etc. A link to this topic wouldn’t hurt.
In the meantime I will try to attract some attention to this topic.
I have had a similar problem. I have been trying to obtain a refund since 3rd December and have had absolutely no response to my ticket. How do I get a refund?! >:(
If you haven’t done what I suggested in the post above yours do that and post the support ticket ID in your next post.
Hi David,
My original ticket was #DXZ-474-87509 dated 3rd December and I sent a reminder on that ticket on 10th December. I sent another ticket #VMO-180-97226 on 18th December and then followed up with an email on 2nd January 2015 containing all the relevant information. To date I still have not had any kind of response. The original order ID was 10744248260.
Regards,
Catherine
Replying/dealing with ticket takes time, average about 2 weeks, you have submitted multiple tickets which puts you at the back of the list each time and please remember there are Christmas and new year holiday breaks also at this time of year.
I have reported this topic so hopefully it gets seen to promptly.
the refund will be processed asap. thank you for your patience
I am also having trouble getting any type of reply in a request for a refund. The forum tickets are just a useless joke. How do you ever reach a live person to discuss this problem. Worst company I have ever dealt with.
Instead of complaining why not follow the instructions already outlined in this thread and get your problem resolved.
I’ve always gotten better results with sugar than salt.
Please post your support ticket ID
Have a great 2015.
yes I am still waiting for a refund as well. they said I needed to update my credit card , confusion started when I wanted to stop automatic renewal.

I have also been awaiting a reply from Avast since December 30th. Am I the only one who has ever had a company locate another credit card, not given to them, and then billed them for a year of AVast? I mistakenly thought that when the auto renewal failed when they tried to utilize a now non-existent card that I didn’t have to worry about the auto-renewal, which I don’t remember agreeing to in the first place…
I would certainly like to see some proof of that. You may have missed the auto renewal but the agreement holds you to having a certain card
charged for the renewal. Not any card. You also have a right to cancel that auto renewal within a reasonable time frame.
should be handled now

I’m sorry for a delay

Pathetic product, pathetic customer care. I’ve been trying to get a refund for weeks. They are quick to take your money, and then you can’t reach someone in sales or customer support to get a refund. Totally screwed up my computer. I had to take it to an outside firm for repair, then subscribe to another anti-virus product which then identified over 1,000 malware items, many of which appeared the moment I originally downloaded Avast.
If you can reach someone by phone at Avast, their standard response is to become abusive, insulting, and hang up on you. If it goes much further I’ll get an attorney to stick it to them just on principal.
