No Voices

Hi,

Recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate and installed XP mode.

The laptop came with Mcafee 30 day trial pre-installed and I also installed avast freeAV in the XP mode.

Read good things about AIS so after uninstalling Mcafee I downloaded the trial program to give it a whirl. Seems very user friendly but unfortunately I can’t seem to get the voice announcements to work. After checking all the settings I thought maybe the free AV installation in XP mode might be causing some conflicts so I uninstalled that via the control panel. Still no joy so I downloaded aswclear5 and uninstalled AIS via safe mode. Then reinstalled and still no voices!

Any ideas would be much appreciated

did you install with English language ?

If i switch mine to Norwegian language there is no voice…

Same thing for some languages. For example Portuguese

All of mine quit too on actual PCs and VMs. I’m still using 5.0.667 on 3 and the newst build on others. I hated the screechy woman voice anyway! Mine is English.

Screechy…? ??? To each his own, I guess.

I think it is a rather pleasant voice, if a little bit Deja-StarTrek TNG. :wink:

@ Pondus & disPlay - yep English Language selected and the actual sound files do respond when clicked on.

@ Joe S - agree it’s no great loss but would like to know why it doesn’t work.

Update: Reinstalled free AV installation in XP mode and it spoke its welcome but sadly that was all. :cry:
